Remembering Our Shareholder, Mentor, and Friend, James M. Sturdivant

We are deeply saddened by another passing of a shareholder, mentor, and dear friend of the firm, James M. Sturdivant. Our extended GG family are in our thoughts, especially during the holiday season.

“Jim was part of GableGotwals for nearly 60 years. He served as counsel in hundreds of cases involving business disputes, antitrust, contracts, trade regulation, financing, and securities. His accomplishments include being named a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers. He will be greatly missed,” said John Dale, Shareholder and CEO of GableGotwals.

In an interview with Super Lawyers discussing his accomplishments, Jim shared, “I’ve been very fortunate to have the opportunity to work on a lot of high-profile and significant pieces of litigation—usually on the defense side, but sometimes on the plaintiff side through the years. I’ve been privileged to work at one law firm the whole time with a wonderful group of men and women. I don’t know if that’s an accomplishment or not, but it’s certainly something that I’m proud of.” Click here to view his obituary.
