Bailey Barnes is a transactional associate at GableGotwals, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate finance, and general corporate transactions. She advises clients in the energy, oil and gas, and manufacturing industries, from publicly-traded companies to start-ups. Her experience includes drafting and reviewing purchase agreements, master service agreements, loan agreements, and other commercial contracts. In the start-up space, Bailey assists in forming entities, drafting essential documents such as operating agreements and commercial contracts, and ensuring entities are adequately prepared to do business, including regulatory compliance under the Corporate Transparency Act.
Prior to joining the Firm, Bailey was a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge David B. Lewis in the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.
At the University of Oklahoma College of Law, Bailey served as Notes and Comments Editor for Oklahoma Law Review. Her student comment, Software v. Software: How Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act Threatens to Undermine Antitrust Law, appeared in the spring 2022 publication. She competed in the National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition and the Chicago Bar Association Moot Court Competition, and her extensive moot court experience led her to be inducted into the Order of the Solicitors.
