GableGotwals Establishes Scholarship at OU Law in Memory of Late Shareholder James M. Sturdivant
GableGotwals is pleased to announce the funding of three scholarships for Legal Counsel Interns at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in memory of the Firm’s late Shareholder and OU Law alum, James M. Sturdivant.
Jim joined the firm after receiving his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1964. Prior to attending law school, he served two years of active duty as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. Jim served as counsel in hundreds of cases involving business disputes, antitrust claims, contracts, trade regulation, financing, and securities. He also served as lead counsel in more than 100 jury trials. Jim was a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and was appointed as a Member of the Special Problems in the Administration of Justice Committee for the 2019-2020 term. In addition, he was a Fellow of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers and he and received numerous accolades by prestigious publications noting his legal practice.
