Barbara M. Moschovidis is a shareholder at GableGotwals. She advises clients on a variety of litigation matters, including complex commercial disputes, oil and gas law, insurance issues, tribal law, and appellate matters. Barbara is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Oklahoma, before the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and before the Courts of the Cherokee Nation. Barbara has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Civil Litigation and Commercial Litigation since 2015.
Barbara received her J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where she was elected to Order of the Coif, Order of the Barristers, and Order of the Scribes. While in law school, she was published by the American Indian Law Review, for which she served as Business Development Editor. Barbara was named the Outstanding Third Year Student at the University of Oklahoma College of Law by the Oklahoma Bar Association. Barbara earned her Bachelor of Science in International Business and Languages from The University of Tulsa, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and served as a member of the University’s accreditation committee.
Barbara enjoys being active in the Tulsa community, having served on the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of Eastern Oklahoma and the Tulsa Global Alliance.
Representative Experience
- Acting as lead counsel in numerous condemnation actions, including obtaining unanimous jury verdict of less than $10,000 in eminent domain action, where landowner sought in excess of $1 million for just compensation
- Representing an energy pipeline operator in a putative five-state class action alleging abandonment of pipeline and resulting trespass and nuisance
- Acting as lead counsel in actions pending in four federal jurisdictions raising multiple trademark and advertising issues
- Representing energy clients in interpleader actions regarding production proceeds
- Secured a unanimous victory from the Oklahoma Supreme Court on behalf of Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, LLC regarding the necessity of takings under the power of eminent domain
- Acted as lead counsel in a products liability action on behalf of Oil States Industries, Inc. concerning the use of a dissolvable frac ball in a saltwater disposal well
- Obtained bad faith summary judgment on all claims, and awarded attorneys’ fees and costs based on an offer of judgment on behalf of State Farm
